The Essential Basics of Backgammon Game Plans – Part One
by Karla on May 23rd, 2023
The goal of a Backgammon game is to shift your chips around the Backgammon board and pull them off the game board quicker than your challenger who works harder to do the same buthowever they move in the opposing direction. Succeeding in a match of Backgammon requires both tactics and good luck. Just how far you will be able to shift your pieces is left to the numbers from rolling a pair of dice, and how you shift your chips are decided on by your overall gambling techniques. Players use differing plans in the differing parts of a game dependent on your positions and opponent’s.
The Running Game Tactic
The aim of the Running Game strategy is to lure all your checkers into your home board and bear them off as fast as you could. This strategy concentrates on the pace of advancing your checkers with no time spent to hit or stop your competitor’s pieces. The best time to use this technique is when you believe you might be able to move your own pieces faster than the opposing player does: when 1) you have less checkers on the game board; 2) all your checkers have past your opponent’s pieces; or 3) the opposing player does not employ the hitting or blocking technique.
The Blocking Game Plan
The primary aim of the blocking tactic, by its title, is to stop the opponent’s chips, temporarily, while not worrying about moving your checkers rapidly. As soon as you have established the blockage for your competitor’s movement with a few checkers, you can shift your other chips quickly from the board. The player should also have a good strategy when to extract and shift the chips that you employed for the blockade. The game gets interesting when your competitor utilizes the same blocking technique.
