Backgammon is the original game in history. It has been known as the "wee war," backgammon appeared in Mesopotamia (now known as Iraq) approximately 5000 years ago. In any case, Egyptians referred to backgammon as "Senat," which was a close type of the present game played today. Hundreds of years ago, just people of power, the ruling figures of aristocracy like Egyptian queens, were able to enjoy. The game started to grow around the globe over time. Various Backgammon variants have been created in various states and societies, but the main codes of those variations resemble those of the ancient form . For instance, Greece took hold of the game and coined the title "bac gamen." From there, the English started playing backgammon in the seventeenth century and have remained with it ever since. Backgammon and competing archaic games were never welcomed by many clergy. The churchgoers felt that the game was the work of Satan. This led clergy to blacklist and destroy the game. The abolishment and burning did not prevent people taking part in games and enjoying themselves.
Computers give an additional platform for Backgammon.
