The History of Backgammon – Today and Before

Backgammon is the oldest known game in recorded history. It has been known as the "little battle," backgammon began in ancient Iraq approximately 5 millennia ago. However, Egyptians called backgammon "Senat," which was a similar style of the current game played today. Hundreds of years ago, just people in influence, the prevailing figures of royalty like Egyptian kings, were permitted to play. The game started to spread around the planet since then. Various Backgammon versions were developed in many regions and civilizations, but the basic protocols of those versions are similar to that of the antiquated form . For instance, Greece took hold of the game and coined the name "bac gamen." From there, the English borrowed backgammon in the 1600’s and have continued to play it ever since. Backgammon and different ancient games weren’t ever acknowledged by a great many churches. The religious felt that the game was the tool of Beelzebub. This caused churches to boycott and burn the game. The ban and burning had never prevent folks enjoying games and being entertained.

Technology makes available a brand-new arena for Backgammon.
